Keep Moving Forward!

“You have come to Jesus, the one who mediates the new covenant between God and people, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks of forgiveness instead of crying out for vengeance like the blood of Abel.”
Hebrews 12:24 NLT

The day between Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday is known as Holy Saturday.

The "in-between."

Between the crucifixion and the resurrection.
Between the promise and the fulfillment.

It reminds me of when Israel got freed from slavery in Egypt.

When they left Egypt, the Egyptians started chasing them and they came up against the Red Sea. God performed one of the greatest miracles through Moses and split the Red Sea...and Israel crossed through on dry land. But the Egyptians followed Israel in!

Israel was in the middle of a miracle and the enemy was chasing after them! They were in the "in-between."

Have you felt like your past was chasing you? Like it was trying to remind you of your failures, your flaws, and remind you of who you once were?

The answer isn't to quit, navel gaze, and beat yourself up. You've got to keep moving forward!

When Israel got out, God released the waters to go back to their place, and the Egyptians drowned.
The prophecy of Moses came to pass: "...the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever..." (Exodus 14:13).

Hebrews 11:29 says it like this: "By faith they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land, whereas the Egyptians, attempting to do so, were drowned."

This is a picture of what the blood of Jesus has accomplished for us.

When Jesus shed His blood for us and died on the cross, He paid for our freedom and defeated our enemies.

It's no coincidence to me that the Israelites passed through the Red Sea and that we as believers in Christ have been cleansed by the red blood of Jesus.

If the Egyptians couldn't make it through the Red Sea, how much more will your accusers not make it through the redeeming blood of Jesus?

Don't get stuck in the "in-between"!

The accusing voices want to distract you, pull you backward, and paralyze you—but the blood of Jesus has a voice (Heb. 12:24), and it is speaking better things over you!

"Mercy! Grace! Forgiven! Free! Clean! This one is mine! I choose them! I love them! I bought them!"

Keep moving forward and believe in what Jesus' blood has done for you.

For the Egyptians you see today, you shall see again no more!

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Prayer:
"Father God, I thank You that if You could drown the Egyptians in the Red Sea, then You can drown the accusing voices by the blood of Jesus. Open my ears to hear the voice of Jesus' blood: the voice of Your redemption, the voice of Your mercy, the voice of Your love. I turn from all sin and I receive Your forgiveness and Your freedom. I move forward into all that You have for me. Thank You for the cross! In Jesus' name, amen."
