God of the Breakthrough!

“The Breaker [the Messiah] will go up before them. They will break through, pass in through the gate and go out through it, and their King will pass on before them, the Lord at their head.”
Micah 2:13 AMPC

Have you ever felt stuck or limited? Held behind the confinement of fear or shame? Or just suffered from a lack of momentum and feeling spiritually dry? You need an encounter with the Breaker! He’s the One who goes before you, clears out the obstacles, and makes a way for you!

On a recent trip to Manila, Philippines, I led worship in a church and sang about God being a breakthrough God. Afterward, I invited people forward to receive a miracle from the Lord. One lady, who had lost feeling and mobility in her legs due to a spinal injury, got up out of her wheelchair and began to walk! Another young man, who had lost sight in his right eye due to a motorcycle accident, suddenly received his sight! Talk about breaking through!

These particular people were suffering from physical ailments, but some of you may be dealing with emotional, spiritual, relational, or financial confinements. The Breaker has no limitations!

Many of you are familiar with the epic story of David and Goliath. One aspect not mentioned very often was the state of the army of Israel. Before David fought Goliath, they were thoroughly disheartened and greatly afraid. Fully equipped yet too afraid to fight; stuck behind the confinement of their fear. Once David won, they turned from a fearful immobile people to a courageous advancing army! (see 1 Samuel 17:11, 52-53).

What was it that changed? They experienced the anointing of the Breaker in the person of David. He went before them, defeated the enemy, and broke open the way for them to get out of fear and chase the enemy off of their territory! The land of the Philistines actually belonged to Israel according the Lord in Exodus 23:31. The enemy was trying to occupy Israel’s promised land and it took the Breaker to make a way for Israel to chase the enemy off.

The enemy wants to do the same thing in your life. He wants to occupy your promises from God; your relationships, your health, your finances, your peace, your joy, your destiny, etc. The good news is The Breaker has already gone before you and defeated the devil! He won your victory at the cross! Jesus’ blood washes you clean and destroys the accusations of the enemy. Jesus crucified body made way for you to have a new victorious nature in His resurrection. It’s time we enforce the victory of the cross in our lives and chase the enemy off of our inheritance!

You were made to be passionate! You were made to take territory for Christ! You were made to possess the promises of God! It’s time to walk in the freedom Jesus paid for us to have. No matter what is trying to hold you back to day, Jesus destroyed it’s authority through His death and resurrection. He’s the Breaker who has gone before you.

Here’s a few ways to enforce the victory of the cross in your life:

  • Meditate on scripture that speaks of what Jesus did for you (Rom. 5:8, Gal. 2:20, Gal. 5:1, Heb. 2:14-15 are a few)

  • Take communion (1 Cor. 11:23-26)

  • Sing worship songs about the victory of the cross (For The Cross, O Come To The Altar, The Cross Has The Final Word)

  • Be thankful in prayer for what Jesus did for you. Thankfulness is a way of receiving and it brings increase.

  • Take action on whatever you feel limited in. Faith with action is faith that’s alive. Your action says “God, I believe You.”

  • Ask for the spirit of wisdom and revelation so you can see by revelation what Jesus has done. (Eph. 1:17-18).
